With the fourth season of Chicago Fire premiering tonight, Taylor Kinney is officially back to making weekly appearances in our lives and we couldn’t feel more #blessed.
Now that Lady Gaga had made her debut as American Horror Story: Hotel‘s newest staple, America’s fiercest fiancés are officially dominating our television sets. For the couple who initially met on the set of Lady Gaga’s “Yoü and I” music video released in 2011, it seems only fitting that they’re both getting screen time at the same time.
When E! News sat down with the 34-year-old blue-eyed hunk of NBC’s hit drama, he admitted he would be happy to be on the same set with his future wife again.
“I would love doing something with her,” Kinney told E! News. “I met working with her. I don’t know that we’ve done anything workwise since. I wouldn’t put that out of the realm of possibilities.”
Kinney even had a possible name in mind for his future project with his favorite leading lady. “The Nuptials,” he suggested. While it’s unclear if he wants to use his upcoming wedding as the inspiration for a scripted show or is open to broadcasting it live, we know we’d be watching either way—preferably the latter.
For Kinney, who is set to return as Chicago Fire‘s resident “ladies man” Lieutenant Kelly Severide, helping Gaga prepare for her newest venture as The Countess Elizabeth on FX’s smash hit has helped to strengthen his own acting chops.
“I just wanted to help my girl prepare the best that she could, so that in itself has helped me just kind of…get immersed in it, in the work, and that translates…the more you talk about it, the more you do it, that stays with you.”
A lot of changes are in store for Kinney’s character, who he teases is “trying to earn his stripes back” after a demotion from lieutenant and a new boss from whom he’s not too pleased to take orders. As an actor, Kinney welcomes the shakeup with open arms.
“The changes themselves are great because they give you everything to play off,” Kinney admitted.
So, how do two Hollywood stars prepare for upcoming television debuts? A lot of weekend nights in.
“We’ve gotten together Friday nights, Saturday nights to help my girl prepare, to help read, to get her off book, to give her choices,” Kinney said of his fellow Fire cast mates, including Eamonn Walker and Monica Raymund, who have performed on Broadway and studied at the Juilliard School respectively.
It sounds like the 29-year-old songstress could not have been in better hands. But, did she impress her soon-to-be hubby with her first lead performance on television?
“It was amazing. I’m proud of her and I push her. I support her 100 percent. Ryan Murphy has done an amazing job. That cast is amazing…she loves it. She really does,” Kinney gushed. “I think she did great.”
